Groundbreaking of Buccaneer Arena

Merle Hay Mall and Des Moines Buccaneers celebrated the groundbreaking of Buccaneer Arena last week. The 3,500-seat arena will be the end product of a major renovation of the former Younkers store located inside the mall. The facility will also hold three additional rinks, locker rooms, and administrative offices, and will provide flexibility and opportunities for other events to take place.
